I am a compulsive cookbook buyer! I just can’t help myself when it comes to buying cookbooks, but amongst my huge collection are a few that I turn to time and time again.
Here are my current top three:
1. Love Bake Nourish by Amber Rose – I love baking but I don’t like to eat wheat or consume refined sugar, so this book is a fantastic resource. Amber uses natural forms of sweetener such as fruit or maple syrup and different flours such as polenta or almond flour. Everything I have baked from this book has been delicious and nutritious. The Chocolate Chestnut cake is perfect for Christmas!
2. Plenty by Yotam Ottolenghi. I love Middle Eastern food and Yotam Ottolenghi is my favourite chef. In this book he shows you how to make vegetables and pulses the star of the show. The dishes are full of amazing flavours using herbs, spices and unusual ingredients. Vegetables need never be dull again!
3. The 30 Minute Cook by Nigel Slater. My copy of this book has had so much use that it no longer has a cover! I was bought this book before I started studying nutrition and it inspired me to start cooking from scratch more regularly. The recipes are all straightforward, delicious and perfect for a midweek meal.
