ADHD in the Woods

A restorative morning for adults with ADHD to connect, create and spend time in nature

Saturday 12 September | 10am to 12.30pm
Litten Local Nature Reserve, Oldfield Lane South, Greenford, UB6 9JX
£30 per person

ADHD in the Woods is a relaxed, supportive morning in a beautiful local nature reserve, created especially for adults with ADHD.

Away from screens, demands and everyday distractions, we will spend time exploring what it means to have ADHD, alongside a variety of creative, practical and nature-based activities.

There is no pressure to perform, achieve or be good at anything. The morning is about slowing down, trying something different and enjoying time with other people who understand what living with an ADHD brain can be like.

What to expect

During the morning we will combine gentle discussion about ADHD with creative activities inspired by the woodland around us.

We will explore some of the strengths and challenges that can come with ADHD, including the way we think, feel, focus, connect and respond to the world around us.

There will also be opportunities to get involved in nature-based creative activities, spend time outdoors and connect informally with other people with ADHD.

You do not need any previous experience of outdoor or creative activities. Everything is designed to be accessible, relaxed and enjoyable.

Why the woods?

For many people with ADHD, everyday life can involve a lot of noise, stimulation, expectations and mental effort.

Spending time in nature offers something different.

The woodland gives us space to slow things down, engage our senses, use our hands, be creative and connect without the usual pressures of everyday life.

And sometimes it is simply easier to talk when you are walking, making or doing something alongside someone else.

You may leave the morning feeling…

  • restored after spending time away from everyday demands
  • more positive about your ADHD
  • more connected to your own strengths
  • encouraged by meeting other people with ADHD
  • more accepting of the way your brain works
  • inspired to bring more creativity and time in nature into everyday life

Most importantly, ADHD in the Woods is a chance to spend a morning with people who understand that ADHD is about far more than being distracted or disorganised.

It is an opportunity to explore your ADHD with curiosity rather than judgement.

Who is it for?

ADHD in the Woods is for adults with ADHD who would enjoy meeting others in a small, supportive group while doing something a little different.

You might be recently diagnosed, have known about your ADHD for years, or still be making sense of what ADHD means for you.

You do not need to arrive knowing anyone, and you do not need to be particularly outdoorsy or creative.

Just come as you are.

Who is running the session?

ADHD in the Woods is run by Emily Fawell, ADHD Coach at 4Well People, and Rebecca Makinson from Blue Fox Forest School.

Together, Emily and Rebecca bring expertise in ADHD and nature-based learning to create a morning that combines understanding, conversation, creativity and time outdoors.
